The path into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program.

Our team here in Costa Rica has over 20 years of experience in all aspects of scuba diving we want to share that with you. We welcome you to join our team of ocean ambassadors and learn to become a scuba diving professional.

What is involved in the PADI Divemaster program?

During the PADI Divemaster program, you learn dive leadership skills through both classroom and independent study. You complete water skills and stamina exercises, as well as training exercises that stretch your ability to organize and solve problems. You will be shadowing instructors as you learn how to become an instructional assistant and work effectively on the whole range of PADI programs. We also include a dive operations program throughout your course where you can learn valuable skills including compressor operations, equipment maintenance and sales techniques.

During the program you will be receive full resort training in every aspect of working in the dive industry. In addition we now also include 1-3 FREE PADI specialties depending on the period of time you stay with us for training.  We also include self-reliant diver training! Since 2017 we are also including free tank visual inspection training which is invaluable when working in the dive industry.

ECO Divemaster

We all want to feel that our actions have a  positive impact and at Oceans Unlimited that is a fundamental part of our professional training programs. We are partnered with a local marine conservation non-profit,  and with their collaboration, we created the ECO Divemaster program. Our ECO divemaster program focuses on ocean advocacy.  As well as the standard PADI Divemaster training it also includes fish ID classes, REEF check programs and clean ups and the option to work on our amazing coral restoration project. It also incorporates our marine conservation and research program, as well as community outreach initiatives designed to inspire conservation efforts in the local community. The only divemaster program to do so.
