PADI Womens Dive day on July 21st
July 21st is PADI Womens Dive Day. This is the fourth annual womens dive day event and we are super excited to be hosting our own special day.
The idea is to celebrate women in scuba diving. That doesn’t mean that you gentlemen can’t take part. By all means, it is an event for everybody, but in celebration of women in scuba diving.
How are we celebrating?….marine conservation !
To celebrate this we are holding a couple of different events. The first is a REEF Fish ID program. We will have our marine biologist instructors onboard the boat who will be hosting a fish ID briefing and chat before the dive on the boat in the morning. Following that, everyone will get to take part in the dive onboard and survey the fish that they see. It is a great opportunity to learn more about the underwater world when you are visiting it as well as take part in its conservation. REEF surveys are an important part of monitoring reef health and as citizen scientists, you get to do your part too.
Adaptive teaching
Following that, in the afternoon, we will be offering a small adaptive teaching workshop for anyone who would like to know more about adaptive scuba diving. Scuba diving is one of the best healing tools out there and can offer many people with both physical and mental challenges the opportunity to escape from their pain. It can give people a new lease of life and open many opportunities.
