It’s here, It’s finally here. We all thought is was a myth, the constant teasing that the “new dive boat” will be arriving soon, but we were proved wrong. After 4 months of will it won’t it we have been blessed with the new arrival of the dive boat Oceans Explorer. It sounds almost like welcoming a new baby right? But we are that excited. Because guess what it means? We get to explore even more!
The new dive boat is a 36 ft inflatable with space for 20 divers completing a 2 tank dive. In addition to that we have space for an additional 12 people wanting to snorkel or just ride along. So, if your family aren’t divers yet and just want to enjoy the waters of Manuel Antonio without bubbling underneath, this is great news. You can all come out as a family and enjoy the waters on the new dive boat together.
Whale encounters on the dive boat
With whale season fast approaching you can come out and hang out with them. The difference is with us, is that we will actually teach you something about them. With our certified guides onboard, we want you to take something with you after the trip. We will teach you about whale conservation, behavior. We will also look at how to identify them for one of our citizen science programs.
Go further afield
In addition to that we are going to start visiting once again our further afield dive site. Locally we will be hitting some of the sites on the edge of the park. This includes one of my favorites, Lost Rock. We will be running trips to Veinte Seis more frequently and now also have the chance to run to Caño island from Quepos. We won’t be running the trips everyday, but if you are looking for a private trip with your family and friends without needing to go to Uvita then let us know.
All in all an exciting time. So, if you want to come and join us on the lovely new addition to the Oceans Unlimited dive team and explore the oceans with us, just let us know!
