So if you want to do the “Star Trek” thing and boldly go where no one has dove before then here is your chance. 22 miles offshore of Manuel Antonio is a isolated pinnacle , known mostly by local sport fisherman and home to large populations of reef fish as well as pelagics. On every trip we  have seen schooling Jacks, large snappers as well as many of the smaller reef fish. It seems to be a haven for large moray eels, which could well account for the lack of lobster there I suppose. We are offering this trip this year for those divers with a little bit more experience who want to dive somewhere where few people have yet to have the chance. with the depth at the top of the reef touching 95ft (approx 28m) it is certainly not a beginners dive so would recommend it for this with at least an advanced certification. We would also recommend diving on nitrox for this to extend your bottom time slightly, so why not combine it with a nitrox cert, or what about your first step into technical diving? With a full array of technical dive courses available at the dive center, now is a great time to start. Want to go that bit further and see something different, then maybe this is the dive for you on your costa rican vacation?!

Cool blog!
thedecostop and scubaboard are two very good aegsmse boards.Be warned, the many of the posters on these two boards are beyond recreational divers. Some (not all) of the posters will have a serious bias towards anyone that is not certified by agency. They will still give good information, but don’t be scared off by their bias. For buying gear, you need to first establish what type of diving you will plan to do. Buy gear related to that. Here is an example of two extremes:Warm water vacation diving is probably the basis for how you were taught to dive. There is nothing wrong with the warm water vacation gear, it is probably what 99% of the divers in the world use. It is safe gear for this type of diving. I would never use this gear in a cave nor would I dive with anyone wanting to wear this gear in a cave. The opposite it ok. You can wear cave dive gear in warm water vacation locations. It would be serious overkill, but there is nothing wrong with it.Buy gear that targets the type of diving you want to do now and over the next five years.

Where is the best place to book a scuba diving hdiaoly?I’m based in London and have just got my PADI Openwater Diver Cert. I’m keen for me and a buddy to go on a diving break but don’t know the best way to go about it. Are there any London clubs that organise such trips (either in or outside the UK) or any hdiaoly companies that specialise in diving jaunts? Or is it better to get a standard hoilday to a scuba resort (i.e. Sharm El Sheikh) and organise the dive trip when I’m there?
